Home Decor
Is everyone having a good weekend? Ours has been pretty uneventful, which sometimes is just fine. Went grocery shopping, had a barbecue with some friends and just pretty much hung out.
Last night I had the opportunity to go to a scrapbook retreat that a friend of mine was hosting. She asked me to come and share some of the latest "trends" in scrapbooking and talk about the magazine a little bit. I decided to talk about all that's going on with scrapbooking and home decor lately. In fact, watch in our September/October issue for a whole big feature on home decor--it's good and I even have a project in it that I'm in love with!
So I thought since I shared a few projects with them, why not share them with you as well? So here you go:
These first two frames were made by my sister and I this week. They're based on the frame class that is being taught at CKC this year. So if you're signed up to take it, you'll love it! I did the first one and my sister did the second one:
The next one is a total and complete scraplift of Cheryl Overton. It was SOOOO easy to make and I love how it turned out!
These are some wooden letters that I made for Ryan's room a few months ago. I was going to embellish them further, but I loved how simple and clean they looked with just the patterned paper, some ribbon and a bookplate:
And here is just a little frame I made to match:
You may have seen these little photo coasters (by Making Memories) in the magazine a few issues ago. I love them and bought these little tiny easels to set them on. They sit on my bookshelf in my family room:
And this last one is probably my favorite. It was inspired by projects I saw by Sweetwater at their booth at Memory Trends. It was so quick and easy!
And that's about it! I had so much fun doing all of these and finding a place for them in my home. I'm hoping to be able to do a lot more creating this coming week. TFL!

These all look so fun. Thanks for sharing. :)

All the projects are awesome. I especially love the first three frame projects. Great ideas and ways to fill in my IKEA shelves in my new living room! Thanks.

Cute stuff!
I am not that crafty of a person so I have to ask how do you get the patterned paper on the letters. I love that idea!
